AJALON MOON
Joshua 10: 6-13
All of the Kings of the Amorites that dwelled in the mountains
were gathered together for battle against the Children of Israel
and the Lord said to Joshua:
“Fear them not for I have delivered them into thine hand,
there shall not a man of them stand before thee.”
Joshua therefore came unto them suddenly,
and went from Gilgal all night.
Then requested Joshua to the lord: “Sun stand thou still upon Gibeon:
and thou moon in the Valley of Ajalon.”
And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed.
Is not this written in the Book of Jasher?
…stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down
about a whole day.

I have always loved this Bible story!
Recently...I had these insights:
As for the battle.
In answer to Joshua's prayer. There would be no enemy slipping
away…under the cover of darkness, as Israel triumphed over the Amorites.
And thou moon…what was the purpose…the importance of you standing still?
Certainly…with the brilliant sunlight…wasn’t that enough?
But in the Apocalyptical battle of light over darkness, good over evil…
it sent a symbolic message to evil not to make any attempt to escape.
For with the sun reflected in the fluorescence of moonlight,
there would be no place in the
world for evil to hide.
Not even in the...
Valley of Ajalon.
